What do you love most about working at Bloom?
I like that my focus as an advisor is on managing investment portfolios and helping clients achieve their goals. Unfortunately, many firms in the financial industry still primarily work toward achieving sales targets rather than results for their clients. Bloom never has been about that, and it’s one of the things I like most.

What type of clients do you enjoy working with most?
I like working with all of our clients, but I probably get the most enjoyment from working with younger clients as they tend to need the most help on a variety of different areas including retirement planning, estate planning and, of course, investing. I feel that I am adding the most value in those situations.

What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
I put our clients’ goals and success first and foremost in the work I do daily. As mentioned above, putting the client first is not always the goal of many financial firms. I am proud that I can look at myself in the mirror every morning and like the person staring back at me.

What do you think makes Bloom special?
Although we manage over a billion dollars on behalf of clients, we are still a family-run business that cares about clients and employees more than the bottom line.  We know that by taking care of clients and employees, the bottom line will take care of itself.

What did you do before you joined Bloom?
I was associated with the investment firm of Charles Schwab for ten years, rising through Schwab’s ranks to become vice president and branch manager of the Southfield office. While at Schwab, I was responsible for $1.5 billion in client assets.

“My favorite quote is, 'Life is a journey, not a destination' by Ralph Waldo Emerson. That quote is like a Scott Whyte original, 'If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there', which can apply to a variety of situations.”

I recently started playing the drums again. From elementary to high school, drumming was what I enjoyed most. Now that my kids are grown, I have found time to play again.
