What type of clients do you enjoy working with most?
I really like working with multiple generations in a client’s family. I consider it a real privilege when a client says, “can you help my adult son get started?” Life is full of transitions from birth to death, the planned to the unplanned, and I love that clients can count on me to help guide them and ease some of the stress associated with these big life moments. I also enjoy helping clients who are getting ready to retire. Retirement can be a time of uncertainly and anxiety, but with proper help and guidance I am able to put clients at ease. From helping to build their budgets to talking through their withdrawal needs and Social Security planning, I feel I can really help them get ready for a new phase in their lives.

What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
When I began working for Bloom in 2002, I joined as part of the client services team. Eventually I decided to study for my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation. With so few female advisors in this industry, I am proud to have earned this credential and to have been working in the industry for 18 years.

When is a time you felt you made a meaningful difference for a client?
I recently had a client who was going through a divorce. She would often come to our meetings and stay quiet as her husband asked all the questions. When she reached out to me about the divorce and her desire to take control of her finances, I took great pride in helping to both educate her and build her confidence as it relates to the content. Women statistically live longer than men and we are seeing more young women take the role as primary breadwinner, so they need to be empowered and educated. Every time I have the chance to support someone in their journey towards financial freedom and stability, I feel that I am making a meaningful difference.

What do you think makes Bloom special?
I think we are special because as a firm we truly care about the client achieving their goals and objectives. So many firms care about profits and selling products, but here it is about the clients and what is in their best interest.

What did you do before you joined Bloom?
Accounting, bookkeeping and tax preparation.
